Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains how DIGIPe collects,
uses, shares, stores, and protects your personal information.

Effective Date: July 21, 2026
Our commitment:
DIGIPe does not sell your personal information. We collect and use information
only for legitimate purposes connected with our solar insurance, EMI,
policy-management, inspection, payment, and claim-support services.

This Privacy Policy applies when you use the DIGIPe website, Android

3. Mobile App Permissions

DIGIPe requests device permissions only when they are required to provide
a feature. You may manage many permissions through your device settings.
Disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working.

📍 Precise and approximate location

Location information may be used to:

  • Verify the geographical location of a solar installation.
  • Auto-fill state, city, district, or regional information.
  • Support underwriting, inspection, and policy verification.
  • Help prevent insurance fraud or location misrepresentation.
  • Map insured solar assets and inspection areas.
  • Support authorized site surveys and geofencing.

🗺️ Background location

Background location may be used only for authorized field-survey
activities where continuous location tracking is necessary while a
surveyor maps a solar installation or large solar array, including when
the app is minimized or the screen is locked.

When required, DIGIPe will display a prominent in-app disclosure and
request your permission before collecting location in the background.
Background tracking should operate only during an active inspection or
survey workflow and should stop when the activity is completed.

Customers who do not use field-survey features may not need to grant
background-location permission.

📌 Foreground location service

During an active field inspection, the app may run a foreground location
service with a visible and persistent Android notification. This helps
prevent interruption of location recording while an authorized survey
is in progress.

📷 Camera

The camera may be used to:

  • Photograph solar panels, inverters, meters, structures, and installation sites.
  • Capture evidence of damage during an insurance claim.
  • Scan documents, identifiers, codes, or supporting records.
  • Upload inspection and policy-verification evidence.

The camera is not activated without a user-initiated action or an
authorized workflow.

🖼️ Photos and videos

You may select existing images or videos from your device to provide
identity documents, solar installation evidence, policy documents,
inspection media, or claim-supporting information.

Where supported, DIGIPe will use the Android system photo picker so that
you can select specific files without granting access to your complete
media library.

📡 NFC

NFC may be used to scan compatible identification tags attached to solar
equipment, smart inverters, machinery, or insured assets. This helps
authorized users identify and map registered equipment.

🚶 Activity recognition

During authorized field operations, activity recognition may identify
whether a surveyor is walking, stationary, or travelling. This can help
improve battery efficiency and adjust location collection during an
active inspection.

🔐 Biometric authentication

DIGIPe may allow fingerprint or facial authentication for secure and
convenient account access. Authentication is performed by the Android
operating system or your device’s secure hardware.

DIGIPe does not receive or store your fingerprint, facial template, or
other underlying biometric template.

🔔 Notifications

Push notifications may be used for:

  • Insurance-policy issuance and renewal updates.
  • Premium and EMI payment reminders.
  • Payment confirmations and receipts.
  • Inspection schedules and pending tasks.
  • Claim submission, verification, and status updates.
  • Account-security and service-related alerts.

You can disable notifications through your Android device settings,
although important service updates may then be missed.

⏰ Alarms, boot completion, wake lock, and background processing

Where supported and legally permitted, the app may schedule reminders
for policy renewals, payments, or time-sensitive inspection tasks.
Background services may also resume approved synchronization or reminder
functions after a device restart.

The app may temporarily keep the processor active while completing a
user-requested upload, encryption process, synchronization task, or
delivery of an important notification.

🔋 Battery optimization

During an active field survey or large evidence upload, DIGIPe may ask
an authorized user to exclude the app from battery optimization so that
the operation is not interrupted.

This permission should be requested only when necessary for a clearly
explained feature. Users may decline the request or restore battery
optimization through their device settings.

🌐 Internet and network access

Network access is required to:

  • Authenticate users securely.
  • Load insurance, financing, policy, and claim information.
  • Process payments and transactions through authorized providers.
  • Upload documents, photographs, videos, and inspection reports.
  • Synchronize records with secure servers.
  • Detect connection interruptions and resume eligible transfers.

✅ App licensing, Firebase messaging, and internal security

The app may use Google Play licensing to verify that it was legitimately
installed. Firebase Cloud Messaging may be used to deliver secure push
notifications.

Internal signature-protected permissions and non-exported receivers may
be used to prevent other applications from injecting unauthorized data
into DIGIPe.

📳 Vibration and haptic feedback

Vibration may be used to provide tactile feedback after user actions,
scans, alerts, or authentication events.
